From open overdrive to near-fuzz saturation
UXO starts with a raw, touch-sensitive overdrive response and gives you direct control over how dense and saturated it becomes.
Turn Fuse counterclockwise for a lighter, cleaner, more open sound. Turn it clockwise to increase density, roughness, and saturation until the pedal begins to approach fuzz territory.
Even at the more saturated end of the range, UXO remains responsive to pick attack and cleans up smoothly from the guitar’s volume control. It does not collapse into sputtery or gated breakup.
Shape the saturation, then work it from the guitar
UXO is designed to serve as the primary drive voice in your rig.
Use Fuse to establish how open or saturated the drive feels, set Gain for the output level you need, and use Tone to balance darker or brighter response.
From there, pick attack and the guitar’s volume control become part of the pedal. Play lightly or roll the guitar back for a cleaner, more restrained sound. Dig in or turn the guitar up to restore its full aggressive response—even at denser Fuse settings.
Controls
Gain
Sets the output volume.
Despite its label, Gain does not directly control the amount of distortion. Turn it clockwise to increase the pedal’s output level and push the amplifier or next pedal harder.
Fuse
Adjusts the transistor bias and changes the density and saturation of the drive.
Turn Fuse counterclockwise for a lighter, cleaner, more open overdrive response.
Turn it clockwise for denser saturation, a rougher edge, and a sound that approaches fuzz territory without becoming sputtery or gated.
Tone
Adjusts the overall tonal balance.
Turn it counterclockwise for a darker sound and clockwise for a brighter response.
Responsive even when saturated
UXO keeps its connection to the guitar even as Fuse moves it toward denser, near-fuzz saturation.
Roll back the guitar’s volume for a cleaner, more restrained response, then turn it back up to restore the pedal’s full aggression. Pick attack remains part of the sound throughout the range.
That responsiveness makes UXO useful as a primary drive rather than a one-setting effect.

UXO’s design centers on instability as a musical control rather than a hidden internal condition.

Hand assembled and individually tested
Each UXO is hand assembled by Pendletone Effects using through-hole components on a professionally manufactured printed circuit board.
Every pedal is individually tested before shipping, then dated, serialized, and signed inside the enclosure.
That process helps verify that each unit is working as intended before it leaves the bench.

Four-year limited warranty
UXO includes a four-year limited warranty for the original purchaser, beginning on the original purchase date. Proof of purchase is required.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It does not cover damage caused by abuse, incorrect power, or environmental exposure.
The customer is responsible for shipping the pedal to Pendletone Effects for evaluation. For an approved claim, Pendletone Effects will repair or replace the pedal at its discretion and cover shipping back to the customer.
